Alicia is a Senior Lecturer - Teaching Specialist (Clinical/Practitioner) and endorsed Nurse Practitioner.
She has extensive clinical experience across neurology, rehabilitation, and rural and remote nursing, followed by 14 years in Paediatric Emergency, specialising in minor trauma management. Alicia was the first Nurse Practitioner endorsed in Paediatric Emergency in South Australia.
In 2020, working with homeless families, she transitioned to primary health care and developmental screening, motivated by a desire to support families in navigating the often complex health system. Alicia is passionate about interprofessional education and collaborative practice, and is committed to preparing the future health workforce to work effectively across disciplines to improve child and family outcomes.
She holds a Graduate Diploma in Emergency Nursing and a Master of Nurse Practitioner, and is currently completing a PhD investigating the role of nurse practitioners in child development.
