Chrissie Roberts – Community Researcher & Community Development Coordinator
Originally from the UK, Chrissie has called Australia home for 32 years, living and working in regions including FNQ, Country Victoria, NT, the Gold Coast, and Adelaide. With more than 25 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, she has worked across homelessness, NDIA, Job Network, mental health, volunteer management, drug and alcohol services, and support for unpaid carers. Most recently, she contributed to Skylight Mental Health’s Community Connections Program in the Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island region.
Chrissie is currently a Community Researcher with the ARC Linkage Social Prescribing project, employed by the Caring Futures Institute and a member of the Centre for Social Impact. She brings a strong background in social work and community development, with expertise in identifying community needs, mapping systems, co-designing programs, and building collaborative stakeholder relationships.
In addition, Chrissie serves as Community Development Coordinator at Radio Adelaide, where she is focused on building the capacity of the current members and volunteers and strengthening links to the broader community. She sees her research and broadcasting roles as complementary, both contributing to community development and capacity building.
