Eleanor Taylor-Nicholson

Eleanor Taylor‑Nicholson is an international lawyer whose work experience spans criminal law, migration, human trafficking and human rights, with a particular interest in access to justice for vulnerable groups. She brings more than two decades of global professional experience from the Asia‑Pacific and the Americas into her teaching, and is committed to building connections between university studies and future practice.  
 
Prior to joining Flinders, Eleanor was based in the United States and with Dexis Consulting Group (Washington DC), the Open Society Foundations, and the Earl Warren Institute on Law & Social Policy (UC Berkeley). She has also worked in Asia with the Global Alliance Against Traffic in Women (Bangkok), and the Commission for Reception, Truth and Reconciliation of East Timor, among others. Eleanor was a Rotary Peace Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley from 2009-2011.

Teaching interests

In 2026, Eleanor is teaching International Law and Organisations, Essential Legal Skills, The Australian Legal System, The Digital Lawyer, and Reforming Social Justice.
