Research Officer, Trauma and Injury

Georga Sallows (Research Officer) is a junior researcher with a background in medical science and a deep commitment to public health. Georga has a strong passion for health equity and is committed to conducting research that is community-led and informed and addresses the needs of priority populations through a strengths-based approach. Currently working in the Discipline of Trauma and Injury in the College of Medicine and Public Health, Georga is the project coordinator for grants focusing on Out-of-Pocket Health Care Expenditure (OOPHE) and Indigenous Measures for Protecting and Addressing Critical Trauma (IMPACT) and contributing to the Digitising Information for Practice in Public Health (SMART-PH) grant. Georga also works on a range of projects that aim to prevent and improve injury recovery among priority populations.
Georga's main work involves the co-design of the Your Journey website, along with Patrick Sharpe, to improve knowledge about and access to health services for people who live in the Far West of South Australia and need to travel to Adelaide for health care.
Georga enjoys spending time with the Public Health Dog: Chilli Sallows, running and exploring her creative side.

Georga works closely with communities in the Far West of South Australia to help lower the out-of-pocket health care expenditure (OOPHE) for people living in remote areas. She works with Patrick Sharpe, CEO of E.M.U Consultancy to co-design the Your Journey website that improves knowledge about and access to health services.
