Associate Professor D-Yin (Indy) Lin is a Senior Staff Specialist and clinician-researcher at Flinders Medical Centre, specialising in anaesthesia and perioperative medicine. She trained in medicine at Erasmus MC in the Netherlands, and in hospitals throughout Australia. She completed additional subspecialisation training in anaesthesia for heart and lung transplantation, as well as mechanical circulatory support devices.
Her research program focuses on improving perioperative outcomes through cardiac and regional anaesthesia, registry-based clinical epidemiology, health systems improvement, rural and remote medicine, machine learning, and consumer engagement. A central theme of her work is translating clinically important questions into investigator-led studies that improve safety, recovery, and equity in surgical and perioperative care.
Her PhD on improving patient safety and outcomes in lower limb surgery included impactful publications on the novel pericapsular nerve group (PENG) block, with a FWCI of 14.03.

She has a strong record of building multidisciplinary collaborations and supporting the next generation of clinician-researchers through supervision, mentoring, and departmental research leadership.
Nationally, she serves on the Executive of the Australian Society of Anaesthetists, where she is Chair of the Scientific Prizes, Awards and Research Committee (SPARC ASA). She also represents her peers on the ANZCA PPRNE, Wellbeing, and Regional Anaesthesia committees, and Chairs the ANZCA PG03 Major Regional Anaesthesia and Analgesia revision Committee. Through these roles, she contributes to research strategy, professional education, guideline development, and the strengthening of research culture within anaesthesia.
Associate Professor Lin is also a member of the FHMRI-RED Committee, with a portfolio focused on supporting clinician-researchers and research capacity building. She is a regular peer reviewer for Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine and reviews for other leading journals. Her current additional study in Law, Juris Doctor adds a complementary perspective to her research leadership.
She has published more than 40 peer reviewed articles with over 75% as a key positioned author, and currently supervises 9 PhD candidates.
