Since 2005, Kristin has worked alongside optometrists and ophthalmologists in Australia and the United States. Her expertise lies in a wide range of contact lens specialties, including soft, rigid gas permeable (RGP), scleral, and orthokeratology lenses. She has gained extensive clinical experience in various healthcare settings such as public hospitals, universities, ophthalmology centers, solo practitioner clinics, optometric practices, and contact lens distribution companies.
Currently, Kristin holds a position at the Flinders Eye Centre within Flinders Medical Centre In this role, she specializes in advanced and highly specialized contact lens fitting for patients with specific medical needs, including keratoconus, post-graft cases, aphakia, trauma, and various congenital ocular conditions. Kristin also provides contact lens examinations to infants and children under general anesthesia in the operating theatre.
Alongside her clinical work, Kristin is actively involved in teaching and education. She supervises and engages with optometry students at Flinders University's Health2Go Clinic, where she primarily focuses on orthokeratology, corneal RGP, corneoscleral, scleral, prosthetic, and soft contact lenses. She is largely responsible for the Flinders University contact lens teaching content, contact lens practicals, and specialty contact lens placement experiences at Flinders Health2Go and Flinders Medical Centre.
