Honours, awards and grants

Winner of the Italian Institute of Culture Melbourne 2018 Prize for Italian Literary Translation - Premio alla Traduzione Letteraria. "The judges were very impressed by the high standard of entries in this year's IIC Premio alla Traduzione. The text for translation [Wu Ming's short story "Momodou" from "Crimini italiani/The Italian Crime Anthology", edited by Giancarlo De Cataldo, Einaudi Stile Libero, 2008] posed a number of challenges, including a mix of registers and of colloquial varieties of Italian. The winning entry tackled the challenges admirably, bringing Wu Ming's important and moving story to a new audience". The translation has been published.

Awarded the Diploma di Benemerenza "Medaglia d'Oro"/Diploma of Merit "Gold Medal" by the Societa' Dante Alighieri (Rome) for the dissemination of Italian Language and Culture as President of the Dante Alighieri Society of South Australia, April 2017.
