Organising Accessible Events and Meaningful Community Engagement

The JBC is committed to reach far and wide through our research and to meaningfully engage with government, industry and the community at-large. We organise and participate in conferences and forums, public events, round-tables, simulations, wargames and table-top exercises with the ultimate goal of achieving through our research and expertise real-world social impact.

Event Spotlight

The Hon Dr Kevin Rudd AC delivered the 2026 JBC Distinguished Lecture, titled "AI Strategy: Australia and the Dynamics of Strategic Competition between China and the United States. Watch the full lecture here.

Dr Susan Close, former Deputy Premier of South Australia, the Hon Alexander Downer AC, former federal foreign affairs minister, joined Professor Rodrigo Praino and Dr Josh Sunman for a timely forum, examining the 2026 election results and key issues shaping our state’s future.

Every year, the JBC co-hosts the largest space cyber event in the Southern Hemisphere, attracting hundreds of national and international guests. Find out more.

To conclude his five‑month research project at the JBC, Dr Geoffrey McGovern delivered a lecture on how U.S. laws and regulations affect advanced technology sharing between Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom.
