Alex is an early career researcher bridging the fields of health and psychology. She has an interest in how lifestyle factors, like diet and physical activity, can promote cognitive health and reduce risk of dementia.
Her PhD explored the benefits of the Mediterranean diet for cardiovascular health and cognitive function in non-Mediterranean populations. She has experience coordinating randomised controlled trials and cohort studies, including the ACTIVate Study and Australia Dementia Network Screening and Trials Project.
Alex currently coordinates the Spatial Navigation Assessment, Validation and Implementation (SNAVI) project, which aims to validate and implement new tests of spatial navigation for earlier diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease.
