Associate Professor Angie Shafei , MD DBA, is Dean of Business at Flinders University, where she provide sustained leadership consistently fostering an upward trajectory of growth, success and impact; and championing transdisciplinary collaborations and academic excellence. 

With a proven track record of managing academic portfolios exceeding $20 million, Angie has driven exceptional improvements in student experience, learner engagement, and program growth. She has been instrumental in building key industry partnerships for the business school, drawing on her extensive experience to collaborate with prominent organizations like the National Australia Bank, Mitsubishi Motors, the Department of Human Services, and SA Health.

Angie's international influence in her field has spearheaded the business school's expansion across the Asia-Pacific. She has led collaborations in Innovation and Digital Health Transformation, including securing over $300,000 from DFAT grants to foster partnerships with nine countries in the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and North Africa and over $300000 from department of education in educational grant funding for piloting micro-credentials in higher education settings.

Angie is a Clinical Pathologist, Pracademic, Health Management Consultant and Researcher, with international expertise and eminence in leadership development, internationalization of education, innovation, and digital health and aged care transformation. She has 20+ years of experience in the medical, education, quality and accreditation sectors in Australia, Asia-Pacific, North Africa and the Gulf. She is an Associate Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management and Co-founder of InnovateInn, a Technology start-up specializing in Medtech and AgriTech.

She is a research commercialization expert with hands-on experience in Health Transformation, who uses her unique interdisciplinary expertise to engage in translational research and has published in peer-reviewed publications on digital health, telehealth, process and data mining, PREMs and PROMs, patient experience, quality improvement and patient-centred service delivery models, and uses of emerging technology in improving the healthcare delivery including health apps, wearables, virtual reality, and social media in health. She is a member of the Royal Australian College of Medical Administrators, Associate Fellow of Australasian College of Health Service Management, as well as a member of the Australasian Institute of Digital Health and Australia and New Zealand Academy of Management .

Angie is a life-long learner, her Doctorate of Business Administration focused on patient-centred models of healthcare, developing new service delivery models for continuous improvements and involved co-design to improve consumer experiences. Her Medical Doctorate focused on studies on Interferon Alpha Gene Expression on Human Hepatic Cells. She is currently doing a third Doctorate in the University of Adelaide in Health Economics. Angie is an Associate Fellow in the Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM), a member of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators, the Australasian Institute of Digital Health and Australia and New Zealand Academy of Management.
