A career spanning 30 years in emergency nursing and burns nursing and as a keen educator, Bridget has now commenced a career in academia at Flinders University. Teaching and coordinating both undergraduate and postgraduate nursing topics. The principal area of expertise is in emergency nursing. Bridget is a member of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and is currently the Clinical training officer for 3 Close Health Company 9CSSB. The ADF affords Bridget many opportunities to expand nursing skills and knowledge with many challenging medical support tasks and excellent training opportunities. Bridget’s area of research interest is in nurse education with a particular focus on authentic assessment and grading methods.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in the delivery of student education in the post graduate and undergraduate programs
  • Encourage the pursuit of excellence in teaching, learning and research in the role of topic coordinator and tutor.
  • Collaborate with Faculties, Schoolds and disciplins to identify academic areas of concern or difficulty for students.
  • To strive for excellence in the provision of post graduate and undergraduate education.
