Hello!
I am Dr Bruno Pereira, a Lecturer and Researcher with 15 years of experience working with university-industry collaborations and promoting the diffusion of innovations and business initiatives. At Flinders University, I teach and research areas of Artificial Intelligence in Business Practice, Advanced Manufacturing, Innovation Management, and Entrepreneurship. I am also affiliated with the Flinders Factory of the Future (FFF) and with the Jeff Bleich Centre for Democracy and Disruptive Technologies (JBC), where I support research and innovation management processes involving emerging technologies such as AI in advanced manufacturing.
I am the lead author in +30 relevant publications in innovation and business fields. I also serve as a reviewer for prominent journals such as the Humanities and Social Sciences Communications, BMC Health Services Research, Cogent Business & Management, and the International Journal of Innovation Management. Currently, I supervise four Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students and have supervised 23 students with industry placement projects in these fields. Additionally, I serve as an evaluator for tech companies' projects under the InovAtiva Program in Brazil. Since 2010, I have supported Triple-Helix collaborations for innovation initiatives with regional, national, and international organisations in Brazil and Australia.
Previously, in Brazil, I founded and led a public centre for entrepreneurship and innovation, involving a business incubator and entrepreneurial initiatives, where I played a pivotal role in developing dozens of SMEs and startups. My efforts have supported over 3,000 aspiring innovators. I have successfully led projects funded by national and international grants totaling +1,4 million (AUD). At Flinders University, with the Factory of the Future at Tonsley Innovation District, I continue to drive forward-thinking research and industry collaborations, contributing to the advancement of digital transformation and innovation.
Currently, my research focus is Artificial Intelligence and Capabilities in Advanced Manufacturing SMEs, including the current 1-year project ‘Enhancing Innovation and Productivity in Advanced Manufacturing SMEs through Artificial Intelligence’, sponsored by Flinders Factory of the Future through the Strategic Industry Research Program - SIRP ($99,880.00 AUD).
