Associate Lecturer in Psychology
College of Education, Psychology and Social Work
am a Psychologist, Social Psychology Researcher, and veteran specialising in military identity loss, institutional processes, and mental health outcomes during military-to-civilian transition. My research examines how institutional dynamics within military organisations shape identity formation, and how discharge processes can contribute to psychosocial harm, identity disruption, and long-term wellbeing challenges. My expertise includes psychology, social identity theory, trauma processes, and institutional betrayal in high-risk occupational systems.
I have experience in mixed-methods research, qualitative thematic analysis, psychometric scale validation, and structural equation modelling of psychosocial processes. My practice informs a translational research approach, applying empirical findings to inform service delivery, transition management, and veteran support policy.
Before registering as a psychologist, I worked as a crisis peer support worker in both face-to-face and telehealth settings. I have experience supporting individuals with eating disorders, and specialise in working with individuals experiencing situational crises, as well as acute and chronic suicidality.
