Learning and Teaching Innovation
Currently Acting Senior Academic - Level C with Learning and Teaching Innovation (Deputy Vice-Chancellor - Students portfolio), Cassandra leads learning and teaching activities and academic development across Flinders University. She is a primary coordinator for curriculum design, particularly using the Curriculum Design Accelerator, a model she helped co-create.
With a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education, a Master in Nutrition and Dietetics, and a previous role as Senior Research Officer and Lecturer with the Flinders Human Behaviour and Health Research Unit (College of Medicine and Public Health), she brings a broad range of skills and experience to her role. As a dietitian and clinical educator, she has worked across a variety of inpatient, community health and private practice settings including Flinders Medical Centre, Southern Adelaide Health and Adelaide Nutrition Care (her own medical nutrition therapy consultancy). An author and lecturer, she has lectured within the Bachelor's and Masters degrees in Nutrition and Dietetics, Bachelor's degrees in Education, Health Sciences and at TAFE and other higher education institutions. She is involved in adult education and training in an ongoing capacity across her work and has presented at a variety of conferences in areas including HIV nutrition through to body image, chronic disease prevention and peer review of teaching.
