Dr Chirag Patel was born in Wales, UK where he underwent his medical education and some of his training. He emigrated in 2014 and undertook 2 years of Emergency Medicine to acquire the Certificate in Emergency Medicine. He then decided to pursue rural general practice and achieved his fellowship in 2018 during which he also completed the Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine. He is currently enrolled in two Masters Degrees – Clinical Education and Ophthalmic Science. He is an academic titleholder for Flinders University where he provides teaching to medical students. His current research interests are in clinical education and ophthalmology. In his spare time, he coaches youth soccer.
