Demi is currently on leave while undertaking a PhD canditature at Flinders Eyes and Vision as a Clinican Scientist. She is investing inflammatory eye disease at the cellular level, with the hopes of novel treatment advances or further understanding of pathophysiology.
Background
Upon graduating from Flinders in 2015 Demi practiced in corporate optometry for a short period before starting an 18month training program with one of Adelaide Corneal Specialist in Ophthalmology. Here she developed a keen interest for optometric management of anterior segment pathology. Demi now teaches at the university part-time and undertakes locum work part-time.
2015 Rural and Remote Optometry Award
Demi is currently co-topic coordinator for the Clinical Placements topics within the Optometry program. Additionally she teaches in the clinical skills topics for optometry and is a regular supervisor for masters students in Flinders Vision. Demi also co-supervises a master research project.
