Demi is a senior casual academic in the Masters Program in Optometry. Demi is passionate about health strategy, workforce sustainability, and advancing clinical practice.
Upon graduating from Flinders University in 2015, Demi practised in corporate optometry before undertaking a training program with an Adelaide-based corneal ophthalmologist. This experience developed her strong interest in the optometric management of anterior segment and corneal pathology.
In 2022, Demi joined Optometry Australia as Strategic Policy and Program Manager, leading national initiatives including the Advanced Practice Recognition Program and the 2025 Optometry Workforce Projections. Originally from regional South Australia, Demi continues to live and practise in a rural setting, maintaining strong ties to rural life and health advocacy.

Demi is a senior casual academic in the Masters Program in Optometry. She teaches across the final-year Clinical Placements topics and supervises Masters students in Health2Go. She remains actively involved in examinations and has previously taught in clinical skills and co-supervised a Masters research project.
