Dr Dylan Hicks is a movement scientist and an expert in the fields of sport biomechanics, strength and conditioning, coaching, and physical education. His professional focus includes both high-performance sports and the detailed, quantitative analysis of human movement. Through his work, Dylan aims to enhance human performance and improve individualized training interventions. He has a strong background in collaborating with researchers across the globe, including those in Australia, Europe, and the USA. Dylan’s key interests include how skill acquisition, motor learning and biomechanics inform coaching pedagogy and how individual movement signatures influence human performance.
Dylan completed a Bachelor of Education (Physical Education) at Flinders University, then went on to complete a Master of Exercise Science at Edith Cowan University, where he specialised in Strength & Conditioning.
Dylan also has a PhD in Sports Biomechanics (Flinders University) which was focussed on 'Force-velocity profiling in jumping and sprinting actions: Exploring the utility to enhance performance in individual and team sport populations'. His PhD explored field-based methods to quantify mechanical characteristics in athletic populations to improve individualized training interventions.
