Ginger has 30+ years of experience as an IT Professional. Working in the software industry, she has managed Research & Development teams, project managed turn-key implementation teams, designed wide-area network infrastructure, orchestrated unique project management methodologies integrating change management processes as a core activity to better identify and meet the needs of organisations during technical transformations.

Ginger's industry experience includes development and implementation of systems for geological surveying, patient billing and medical records, case management (law), human resources and ERP systems for SMEs involved in shipping, aerospace, manufacturing, and retail.

Throughout her career, Ginger has maintained hands-on technical skills. She cut her programming teeth on SPSS, Fortan, Cobol and Pick Basic. She is an accomplished web developer and is familiar with search engine optimisation and well versed in cybersecurity. Today, she dabbles in python, C++, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PHP, SQL, Raspberry Pis, sensors, and robots. She thoroughly enjoys working with students to help them realize success with their technical projects.

Key responsibilities

In her role with Flinders Digital Health Research Centre, Ginger manages the Centre, participates in research and is the Lab Supervisor for the Cisco Digital Health Design Lab. She advises staff and mentors students, providing advice and assistance related to Digital Health projects including technology choices and troubleshooting, design, development, and project planning.
