Himi has been involved in teaching, overseeing technical service teams, and delivering technical support within Tertiary Institutions since the year 2000. His entire professional journey has been dedicated to Higher Education, where he has served as Laboratory and Technical Services Manager, with notable stints of 5 years at Monash University and 6 years at Charles Darwin University. In these roles, he has provided crucial support across diverse fields such as Engineering, Health Sciences, Science, Environment, and Creative Arts, while effectively leading multifaceted technical teams.

He has also been an active participant and auditor within the Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Committees of both universities. In his most recent roles, he has held chairmanship positions for the Faculty Engineering, Health Sciences, Science, and Environment WHS Committees, as well as the Technical Services WHS Committee. Presently, he spearheads the technical team at the Healthcare Simulation Hub, overseeing laboratories located in Sturt East, South, and Renmark.

Key responsibilities

Overseeing the technical staff management, maintenance and operations of the entire Healthcare Simulation Hub - the Laboratory Teaching Space and Clinical Simulation Suites under College of Nursing and Health Sciences. College areas and specialisations include, but not limited to: Nursing, Midwifery, Exercise and Sports Science, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy.
