Hongyi is a Lecturer (Teaching Specialist) in Government at the College of Business, Creative arts, Law and Social sciences(BCLS). Her teaching and research interests include International Relations, Political Economy, Asian studies, and Chinese Politics.
Hongyi believes every student brings unique experiences and knowledge to the classroom. As a teacher, her role is to build on this foundation - helping students connect new ideas to what they already know, encouraging them to explore topics that matter to them, and fostering an open environment where ideas and perspectives are shared.
Hongyi is committed to enhancing student experience and success. As an Asia-trained academic now teaching both undergraduate students in Australia and transnational programs in China, Hongyi is particularly interested in the influence of culture in higher education classrooms. Since joining Flinders in 2021, she has led and contributed to several learning and teaching projects and has been recognized with teaching awards and commendations from both the College and the University.
