James Chan is a multidiscipline medical scientist and professional member of Australia Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists (AIMS) with more than 15 years of working experience in various areas of pathology laboratory both overseas and in Australia. He obtained his PhD in 2021 in the field of analytical chemistry and biomaterial with primary focus on characterisation and preparation of biomaterials for miniature blood sample preparation.

Currently, he is managing and procuring samples for Flinders Medical Centre Vascular Surgery Biobank and his research is focused peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and cardiovascular atherosclerosis development and biomarkers discovery.

Additionally, Dr Chan is a casual academic with CMPH and assists in developing the lectures and practicals for the subject of Histotechnology. He is also an elected Health and Safety Representative 2023 for the CMPH Professional Staff Workgroup.
