Dr Jennifer Rowe

Jennifer is a higher education professional with more than 20 years' experience across a broad range of university functions, including library and information services, student administration, global engagement, work-integrated learning, and research development. Through these diverse roles, she has developed a comprehensive understanding of the higher education sector and the interconnected systems, processes, policies, and stakeholder relationships that underpin effective university operations. 

Prior to commencing at Flinders University, Jennifer's work at the University of Queensland was centred in academia, encompassing research, teaching, and industry engagement in the Social Sciences (including International Relations, Cultural Heritage, Museum Studies, and Anthropology). She also worked extensively with galleries, museums, and organisations in the multicultural sector. This experience provides her with a strong appreciation of the challenges and opportunities faced by researchers and practitioners, as well as first-hand knowledge of research design, ethics, stakeholder engagement, project management, knowledge translation and community-focused implementation. 

Since joining Flinders University in 2022, Jennifer has drawn upon both her extensive professional experience and academic background to support researchers and research leaders across the research lifecycle. Her ability to navigate complex administrative environments, interpret policy and funding requirements, and build productive relationships across institutional boundaries enables her to contribute to efficient, compliant, and researcher-focused service delivery. 

Jennifer's current responsibilities have further strengthened her expertise in research grants administration, compliance, stakeholder engagement, and research data and information management. Recognised for her collaborative and solutions-focused approach, she contributes to process improvement activities, develops resources that support researcher capability, and works within and across teams to enhance the efficiency, consistency, and quality of research administration services. Her ability to combine institutional knowledge with an understanding of the research environment enables her to effectively support both operational and strategic research objectives.
