Jordan Kildare is a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at Flinders University, with a background in high-speed reacting flows. His research spans emissions reductions in combustion systems, hydrogen safety, hypersonic flow modelling, and machine learning applications in science.  Specifically, Jordan has expertise in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and experimental diagnostics of chemical reaction systems. 

He completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Adelaide in 2024, and then worked as a research fellow with Adelaide University (formerly the University of South Australia) until 2026. That work focussed on development of hypersonic CFD models, machine learning algorithms, and non-equilibrium spectral analysis.

His research interests are primarily in aerospace and fluid dynamics, specifically super- and hypersonic flows. Jordan is also interested in the appropriate application and model development of machine learning in the context of scientific measurement and diagnostics. Beyond mechanical and aerospace engineering topics, he is also interested in the biomechanical analysis of elite sportspeople, and the application of machine learning to this analysis.

Jordan has taught advanced engineering topics since 2022, predominantly in aerospace engineering. These have included propulsion and control system topics, in addition to orbital mechanics and materials analysis.
