Prior to becoming Director of Media and Communications at Flinders University, Karen enjoyed a 30+ year career as an award winning journalist.
Starting at the ABC, she worked variously as a state government media adviser, a print contributor and established a public relations business, before returning to broadcast media. For more than 20 years she was the South Australian correspondent for Australia’s national multicultural broadcaster SBS, producing news and current affairs as a radio reporter, television video journalist and online producer, including reporting forays interstate and internationally.
