Dr Kathy Boschen is a casual academic with the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Flinders University. She completed her PhD in 2024, with a research focus on the interface between disability services and end-of-life care.
Her thesis, “NDIS Participants with Psychosocial Disabilities: Investigating their Formal Supports Following a Life-Limiting Diagnosis” explores the structural and policy-based barriers that impact individuals navigating both the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and the palliative care system. The research advocates for improved cross-sector collaboration and more equitable access to supports for people with psychosocial disability and life-limiting diagnoses.
Dr Boschen works with the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing in the NDIS Health Interface Team, where she contributes to the development of sustainable, person-centred policy for people with complex needs, particularly those at the intersection of disability and health systems
