Dr Katia Ferrar is the Flinders Foundation and Cancer Council Senior Research Fellow in Cancer Wellness. She is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist with over 20 years clinical experience and 10 years research expertise in the field of physical activity and exercise for wellbeing. Her primary research focus is physical activity and chronic health conditions, such as people experiencing chronic low back pain, mental health conditions, chronic fatigue syndrome, people receiving dialysis, and now cancer survivors. Her research explores patient outcomes, such as symptoms and quality of life and the relationships with physical activity.

A mid-career researcher, Dr Ferrar has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and has won more than AU$250 thousand in external research funding to date. Dr Ferrar's research and clinical programs respond to community need and are driven by stakeholder and end user involvement.
