Dr Lemma Bulto is an early career cardiovascular disease researcher. He completed his PhD study from the University of Adelaide and received the Dean’s Commendation for Doctoral Thesis Excellence and Doctoral Research Medal Award for his PhD research work.
He obtained a fully funded and competitive Beacon of Enlightenment PhD scholarship from the University of Adelaide in 2017. Lemma conducted his PhD project on cardiovascular risk factors management and related health literacy.
Before his PhD study, he has contributed to improving outpatient cardiovascular service in Ethiopia. He has also conducted studies to improve adherence to self-management for patients with chronic cardiovascular conditions. Lemma was a lecturer and researcher at Haramaya University, Ethiopia. He was head of Summer education program.
Currently, Lemma is a postdoctoral research associate at Flinders University, he is contributing to integrated care management of atrial fibrillation project which is a multi-centre randomised controlled trial study.
