Education

Lizzy has 20 years of experience teaching in primary, secondary, & tertiary education, including leadership positions in wellbeing, learning area, & professional practice in both Australia & the UK. She is an accredited coach and passionate about supporting pre-service and early career teachers in the profession. Lizzy is an Associate Lecturer in Education at Flinders University and has been a topic coordinator, casual academic teacher, university liaison, & research assistant.

Professional engagement

Co-authored a chapter titled ‘Practical Applications for Building Teacher Wellbeing in Education’ in ‘Cultivating Teacher Resilience’ (Mansfield, 2020). This chapter reviewed positive psychology research and evidence-based interventions that develop teacher wellbeing and buffer excessive stress. It explored connections with positive psychology in the workplace and emphasised the need for professional learning to focus on the development of the psychological capital in teachers.
Written contribution to the EduResearch blog, titled ‘‘Teachers are storytellers. We should listen’.
Two paper presentations at the 2023 AARE (Australian Association of Research in Education) Conference in Melbourne.
