Dr Mahmoud Moussa is a lecturer in HRM in the College of Business, Government and Law at Flinders University in Adelaide, South Australia. Prior joining Flinders, Mahmoud was a lecturer/researcher at RMIT University and Holmes Institute in Melbourne and Rajamangala University of Technology in Chiangmai, Thailand. He is a senior fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), United Kingdom. He is a member of the editorial board at Emerald Emerging Markets Case Studies (EEMCS) Journal, Emerald Group Publishing, UK. He has been teaching postgraduate and undergraduate Business and Management courses in Thailand and Australia for the last 15 years. Driven by the motivation for student success, Mahmoud takes pride in providing high level student engagement outcomes.

Dr Moussa is the author of two books titled “Cross-Cultural Performance Management: Transcending Theory to a Practical Framework”, Palgrave Macmillan, UK and “Innovation and Leadership in the Public Sector: The Australian Experience”, Routledge, UK. He has published over 40 refereed papers in several reputable journals. He has conducted research and published extensively on human-computer interaction, attitudes and perceptions of interactions within organisations, cross-cultural management, HRD, and HRM. His current research interests address innovation and leadership in Australian public sector organisations. Mahmoud’s current research investigates State and Federal governments’ initiatives, action plans, and policies that foster a culture of innovation across all Australian states. In addition, Mahmoud’s high impact research assists academics and practitioners in developing positive cultural environments that support the development of workplace innovation and raise awareness of the dynamics of innovation at the individual, organisational, climate and team levels.

Qualifications

PhD in Management in the College of Business and Law at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. Thesis titled "Innovation in Public Sector Organisations: A Study of Australian State Government Departments."

Master’s degree in Human Resources Development (HRD) at Burapha University in Chonburi, Thailand. Thesis tittled "Intercultural Competence Needs of Managers in International Automotive Companies in the Eastern Seaboard of Thailand."

Bachelor’s degree in Arts of Philosophy at Helwan University in Cairo, Egypt.
