Dr Manasi Murthy Mittinty is a physician scientist with MD (Medicine, Deans medal), PhD (Medicine) and a graduate from the Global clinical scholar research training with Harvard Medical School (Deans commendation, 2023). Dr Manasi has extensive experience of teaching under and post-graduate medical, health science and public health programs. Dr Manasi worked as Lecturer at the University of Sydney (2019-2023) where she coordinated the specialised pain medicine pathway units in the Master of Medicine program, Epidemiology of Pain and facilitated the Self-management of Pain, a continued Professional development course.Dr Manasi co-designed and successfully led the multi-centre National Award-winning EMCAP clinical trial. In her role as the Clinical Educational and Research lead on a commonwealth funded project she is lead the development and delivery of education and skills for interdisciplinary professionals who provide care for people with arthritis.

Dr Manasi is an emerging (inter)national expert in the field of pain medicine with special interest in achieving mental health equity for all Australians by developing individualized patient care programs. Dr Manasi was awarded 2022 MRFF grant to develop a web-based program for children living with juvenile idiopathic arthritis(CIA Prof March) to develop intervention program that informs strategies to minimize the psychological distress on young minds and improve mental and social wellbeing in them. Dr Manasi leads benchmark research on developing scales for improved assessment and management of chronic pain for Indigenous Australian Communities. She works closely with (inter)national research teams to understand meaning associated with the experience of pain from culture, and belief’s perspective. Her novel translational work has started powerful conversations around sex, gender, religion, and racial inclusivity for enhancing patient care. Dr Manasi is the recipient of the prestigious Women’s Agenda Emerging Leader in Health Award (2022) and the Australian Government Funded Endeavour Postdoctoral fellowship (2018).
