Mat is an experienced APA Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist with passion for education and the use of current research in delivering evidence-based, best-practice management for patients of all levels.
Mat has extensive history working in musculoskeletal and high-level sports physiotherapy, including previously serving as Head Physiotherapist to Adelaide United FC, and work within the Football Australia National Teams Unit, including involvement with the Pararoos (Australian National Paralympic) and Joeys (Australian National Youth) teams.
Mat also has extensive experience in providing clinical supervision to undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy students, and also is an invited presenter on the APA sports physiotherapy professional development courses; with particular teaching interests in clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice and exercise rehabilitation.
Outside of teaching commitments, Mat consults clinically in private practice, and is an advisory board member of several professional member organisations.
Clinical interest areas include running biomechanics and running injuries, football injury, disability sport, hamstring and tendon injury.
