Dr Matthew Norris is a lecturer and teaching specialist in the Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching at Flinders. As a practitioner and scholar, he is interested in three broad themes:

  1. the effect of different socio-cultural beliefs on student learning progress and their implications for higher education support practice
  2. learners' intuitive and abstract conceptions of science and mathematics, and
  3. assessment of student learning and educational outcomes in a support setting.

Matthew also completed his PhD at Flinders in the field of advanced chemical synthesis in 2016, and has previously worked as a researcher and educator at Princeton University (United States), Leibniz University Hannover (Germany), University of Queensland, and University of Adelaide.
