Dr Mohammad Almomani is a health economist whose research examines the economic and policy dimensions of population ageing. His work analyses trajectories of functional decline, retirement behaviour, long-term care utilisation, and later-life wellbeing using microeconometric identification strategies and longitudinal data sources such as HILDA, SHARE, ALSWH, and DHS surveys. He has published across health, economics, and social science outlets and participates in the global ageing research community through invited presentations in Europe and the United States. His research has received competitive support from international and institutional funding schemes, including the U.S. National Institute on Aging (NIA), and he serves as a peer reviewer for high-impact journals in labour and population economics. Dr Almomani’s research interests further gendered ageing, and the economic implications of age-related health loss.
