Dr. Naser Pourazad is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at Flinders University, balancing excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement. His teaching philosophy emphasises connecting marketing theory with practical applications, focusing on strategic brand management, consumer behaviour, and digital transformation through experiential learning approaches.

His research portfolio, totalling over A$10.1M in external funding, spans diverse areas including agricultural resilience, defence capability, digital inclusion, and community development. His projects demonstrate a strong focus on building resilience across various sectors, from supporting Aboriginal cultural tourism initiatives to enhancing defence capabilities against information threats. Dr. Pourazad has authored 12 Q1 research publications in prestigious journals, including the Journal of Academy of Marketing Science and European Journal of Marketing, and serves as the Associate Editor for the Journal of Promotion Management, and serves other editorial roles for several marketing journals. His academic excellence was recognised with the 2023 Research Excellence for Outstanding Achievement by an Early Career Researcher award.

Beyond academia, Dr. Pourazad is passionate about leveraging his expertise to create positive social impact, particularly through digital inclusion initiatives and supporting culturally diverse communities. He actively mentors early-career researchers and collaborates with industry partners to bridge academic research and practical implementation.

As an active member of multiple research centres at Flinders University, including the Centre for Social Impact, Torrens Resilience Initiative and Australian Industrial Transformation Institute, he contributes to cross-disciplinary initiatives while chairing the CBGL Business Research Strategy Group and HDR Journal Club. Prior to his academic career, he gained valuable industry experience as a Marketing Manager and Business Analyst at Iran Dairy Industrial Co., the largest dairy company in the Middle East.

Teaching interests

My teaching interests span core marketing principles through to advanced digital marketing applications, with a particular focus on strategic brand management, consumer behavior, and digital transformation. I am passionate about incorporating real-world industry cases and experiential learning approaches to bridge theoretical frameworks with practical implementation. My teaching philosophy emphasizes developing students' critical thinking and analytical capabilities while nurturing their understanding of emerging marketing technologies and data-driven decision making. I have a strong interest in postgraduate supervision, particularly in areas intersecting with digital innovation, consumer-brand relationships, and social impact marketing. Through my teaching, I aim to prepare students for the evolving digital marketplace while fostering their ability to address complex marketing challenges in culturally diverse contexts.
