Rianna Lopez is a Career Readiness Consultant in the University’s Graduate Career Readiness team (Careers and Employability). In this role she works with academics, students, and employers to create career learning content and experiences to support students and graduates during their studies and when entering their professional career.

She currently focuses on the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work and the College of Science and Engineering and is a member of both colleges' Student Success Working Groups.

Rianna is also the Careers representative for Yungkurrinthi, and an advocate for the Flinders Indigenous Student Employment Scheme.

As a Flinders alumna, Rianna studied Education, beginning her career as a school teacher, before moving into adult education, teaching mainly at TAFE SA in Women's Education, alongside some casual teaching at Tauondi Aboriginal College and in Education and Foundation Studies at Flinders, prior to moving into her current role.

She is Secretary and active member of the Flinders branch of the National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU), which has brought the opportunity to be involved in several university committees, including as professional staff representative on the University Enterprise Bargaining team, the University Consultative Committee and more recently the NTEU Representative on the University Indigenous Workforce Strategy Committee.

Her professional interests include education, social justice, career development and workplace relations.
