I am a Senior Lecturer in Health Professions Education with roles in both the Flinders Doctor of Medicine (MD) program and the Prideaux Discipline of Clinical Education.
In the MD, I coordinate the Professional Development and Learning Portfolio and Learning Coach initiative. In the Prideaux Discipline of Clinical Education, I teach into the Master of Clinical Education, supervise HDR students on a range of health professions education topics, and conduct my own educational research. I have experience in conducting qualitative research using case study methodology, and scoping reviews of the literature.
I have a background in secondary education and have taught in pre-service teacher education, medical education, and health professions education.
I am passionate about supporting students and educators through learning and teaching, and contributing to research to improve health professions education practices.

Flinders MD Portfolio and Learning Coach Coordinator
I teach across the MD program through my role as the MD Portfolio and Learning Coach Coordinator. I also teach into the Master of Clinical Education through supervision of coursework projects.
At Flinders University, I am involved in several committees at the College level including Learning and Teaching Academy Leadership Group (Member), Bachelor of Clinical Sciences Progression Committee (Chair), College Progress Committee (Chair), and Reconciliation Action Plan Implementation Group (Member), and am also involved in activities across the University including the Mavis Brown Scholarship Committee (Member). I have also contributed to the MD admissions interview processes in a variety of roles since 2014.
I am a regular reviewer for Medical Teacher, Focus on Health Professions Education, Medical Education, and Perspectives on Medical Education. Additionally, I have reviewed papers for Australian Journal of Social Issues, Australian Journal of Rural Health, Diagnosis, British Journal of Guidance and Counselling, and Refugee Survey Quarterly.
My commitment to health professions education, research and scholarship have been formally recognised with Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand Association for Health Professional Educators (ANZAHPE). I am an active member of the ANZAHPE community and regularly participate in online professional development activities. I have also been an abstract reviewer for the annual ANZAHPE Conference for several years.
I have been an external consultant for Brunel University London since April 2022 and have a long-term relationship with staff in the Brunel Medical School, supporting the design and implementation of their academic coaching program.
