Professor Tarun Bastiampillai

Professor Tarun Bastiampillai has worked as psychiatrist in both the UK and Australia and is a Professor of Psychiatry at Flinders University. He is also an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Monash University. He was appointed the SA Health Executive Director of Mental Health Strategy between 2015-2018 and as a FMC Clinical Director between 2010-2014. He was the recipient of the RANZCP 2020 Margaret Tobin award for psychiatry leadership.

He has publsihed extensively in a number of areas including schizophrenia, psychopharmacology, epidemiology, policy, health service research and suicide. His research has received funding through the NHMRC Ideas grant and the MRFF.
