Tegan Budd (née Putsey) is a Lecturer within the CNHS who actively teaches across the Undergraduate Nursing, Midwifery, and Paediatric Postgraduate Programs at Flinders University. Guided by a deep commitment to leaving the world better than she found it, Tegan brings recent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse and Midwife within both the acute and community care settings across South Australia. Her professional background is grounded predominantly in paediatric nursing and maternity care, where she has provided holistic and family-centred care to children and their families across diverse clinical environments.
With an enduring passion for education, Tegan is dedicated to fostering connection, confidence, and compassion in the next generation of nurses. She is the current Vice President of the Australian Nurse Teachers’ Society (ANTS) and serves on both local and national boards to help promote excellence in healthcare, nursing and midwifery education, professional collaboration, and innovative teaching practices. Deeply committed to sustainability and social responsibility, Tegan advocates for environmentally conscious approaches within healthcare and higher education, encouraging students and colleagues alike to integrate sustainable thinking into everyday work and practice. She engages enthusiastically in ongoing professional growth and development, striving to bridge the gap between theory and practice through reflective scholarship and meaningful mentorship. Her professional interests include the transition to clinical practice, student wellbeing, leadership in nursing education, and the scholarship of teaching and learning.
