Dr Thomas Chaffre has received the M.S. degree in Data Science & Robotics from in 2019 and the PhD degree in Deep Reinforcement Learning and Underwater Robotics in 2022. He is a Chief Investigator for robotics applications at the ARC Training Centre For Biofilm Research and Innovation at Flinders University. He has served as a member of the IFAC Technical Committee on Marine Systems since 2024, providing peer-reviewer for IFAC conferences and journals, as well as supporting the organization of the IFAC World Congress.

His research is in adaptive control, machine learning, and computer vision with applications in autonomous vehicles.
