Tisha Beasley

Tisha is an Associate Lecturer and Teaching Specialist at Flinders University, where she inspires pre-service teachers to bring STEM learning to life and supports the design and delivery of Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary education topics in the Bachelor of Education and Master of Teaching programs.

For more than 20 years, Tisha’s leadership of programs, teams, and classrooms has been grounded in genuine care, underpinned by experience across Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary education. She is passionate about placing student wellbeing and healthy teacher-student relationships at the centre to create optimal learning conditions.

Before coming to Flinders, Tisha was a teacher and leader at the Australian Science and Mathematics School, where she gained experience as a:

Innovative Learning/Curriculum Program Designer. Leading teams of teachers each semester to design and implement interdisciplinary units of learning, synthesising student capability development with content knowledge and practical classroom strategies. Programs were coherent within themselves and aligned with schoolwide priorities, rooted in student agency and authentic learning. Tisha led teams to create, review, and refine these programs each semester.

Secondary Curriculum & Assessment Expert. Supporting teachers to organise curriculum into effective teaching and learning sequences, document integrated curriculum using the UbD method (Understanding by Design, Jay McTighe), and write Learning Assessment Plans that met Australian national and state curriculum requirements. Tisha also led benchmarking and moderation processes to ensure assessment quality.

Proactive Industry/Partnership Connector. Within an engineering program, Tisha connected students with industry partners to enhance learning and engagement. In a business start-up program, she fostered entrepreneurial thinking through partnerships that supported students' future learning and employment.

Pedagogy & Methodology Specialist. Leading teachers to implement engaging, evidence-based pedagogies (including inquiry learning, constructivist approaches, authentic STEM experiences, and design thinking) to maximise conceptual understanding and ensure learning remained the priority.

Professional Impact & Influencer. Visitors came to ASMS from across the state, country, and internationally, seeking innovative approaches to learning design. Tisha shared how the school integrated student care, curriculum, physical space, and culture to create successful learning pathways, while also supporting educators through outreach across South Australia.

Drawing on her extensive experience in education, Tisha brings a deep understanding of how intentional leadership and supportive environments enable children, educators, and communities to flourish as lifelong learners.
