Vanessa was the former Director of the Rural Clinical School and Teaching Program Director (Clinical) in the College of Medicine and Public Health. In her role as Director of the Rural Clinical School, Vanessa provided leadership across the student learning experiences within the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program in Rural South Australia. She now holds academic status as a senior lecturer and learning coach to students enrolled in the MD. Vanessa has an impressive record of achievement and expertise in curriculum and program leadership, development, implementation and review.
Her clinical background and strategic collaborations with industry, clinicians and communities provides a strong foundation to scaffold clinical education relevant to the rural context.
As the current and inaugural Divisional Director of Midwifery, Perinatal and Women's health for the Yorke Northen LHN, Vanessa provides strategic leadership to the Perinatal clinical services across the network.
Vanessa is currently enrolled in a PhD, investigating medical student experiences of the first full year of learning in the clinical context.
