Flinders Disability Scholarship

Description

This scholarship has been established following the creation of a dedicated fund by the South Australian government to support disadvantaged students at Flinders University. Its primary purpose is to support students with a disability who are undertaking a degree at Flinders University and are experiencing financial hardship.

Benefits

Each scholarship will be valued at $6,000 per year for up to four years. There will be five scholarships available per year.

Eligibility

Scholarship recipients must:

• have an Access Plan registered with Health and Counselling services; or
• have requested an Access Plan with Health and Counselling services; and
• be an Australian Citizen, NZ Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, a Permanent Humanitarian visa holder, and
• be commencing course an undergraduate degree; and
• be enrolled full-time at Flinders University*; and
• be in receipt of means-tested government payments or be able to demonstrate financial hardship.

* Recipients who have extenuating circumstances that prevent them from studying full-time (e.g. disabilities, illness, or carer responsibilities) may apply to hold their scholarship part-time subject to the provision of satisfactory independent documentation.

Selection Criteria

Scholarship selection will be made based on academic merit and entry pathway.

Selection of the candidate(s) will be made following procedures approved by the Director, Student Administration in consultation with Flinders Health and Counselling Service.
