Honours and PhD Scholarships – Energetic Materials Research Network (EMRNet)

Description

Flinders University is seeking motivated Honours and PhD candidates to join projects aligned with EMRNet’s objectives in energetic materials design, manufacture, testing, environmental impact, degradation, and disposal. These projects will involve real world industry collaboration, access to cutting edge technologies, and opportunities to help shape the future of safe and sustainable energetic materials management in Australia.

Honours and PhD candidates may undertake research projects related to energetic materials design, manufacture, testing, environmental impact, degradation, and disposal and in areas such as:

• Organic Synthesis
• Green Chemistry 
• Analytical Chemistry
• Polymer and materials chemistry
• Nanotechnology
• Computational Modelling
• Microbiology
• Environmental science 
• Environmental health

Candidates will work closely with academic and industry supervisors and may spend time with the partner organisations depending on the project scope.

Honours program: 1 year

Full-time PhD: up to 4 years

Scholarship Amount

Honours: $7,500

PhD: $40,000 p/a indexed at 3% per year.

Eligibility

Must:

• Meet Flinders University admission requirements.
• Be an Australian Citizen and eligible to apply for an Australian Government baseline Security Clearance (if needed). 
• Be able to provide a National Police Clearance (issued within the last 3 months).
• Take up the scholarship within 3 months of the offer (extensions up to 6 months may be approved in exceptional cases).
