The Professor Lowitja O'Donoghue Indigenous Student Postgraduate Research Scholarship provides an annual stipend, leave and allowances. The scholarship provides a Research Training Program Place (RTP).
The Professor Lowitja O'Donoghue Indigenous Student Postgraduate Research Scholarship is tenable at Flinders University for up to three and a half years for a Doctorate by research, or up to two years for a Masters by research degree, subject to satisfactory progress.
The tenure of the scholarship will be determined in accordance with the Flinders University Research Scholarship conditions of award.
Subject to availability, award holders may also be offered casual, part-time employment with Office of Indigenous Strategy and Engagement not exceeding eight hours per week.
In 2026, the stipend will be paid at the following rates:
Selection of award holders will be undertaken by the HDR Scholarships Committee on the basis of academic merit and research potential. Applications will be ranked according to the University’s Guidelines for Ranking Postgraduate Research Scholarship Applications.
The Professor Lowitja O'Donoghue Indigenous Student Postgraduate Research Scholarship will normally be offered to the highest-ranked eligible postgraduate research scholarship applicant.
