Teaching program
Public Health has become an increasingly significant focus of government plans worldwide. Flinders University offers a comprehensive Public Health Teaching Program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to address complex health challenges and promote health equity both locally and globally.
Within the Public Health Teaching Program, our teaching experts encompass areas such Public Health, Clinical Epidemiology, Remote Health Practice and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Health and Rural and Remote Health.
Teaching Program Director
Dr. Shahid Ullah is an Associate Professor in Biostatistics with extensive experience in both the theoretical and applied aspects of biostatistics within health and medical research. His expertise is widely recognized across various disciplines, resulting in over 200 peer-reviewed publications (h-index of 48), more than 12,000 citations, and upwards of $25 million in collaborative research funding.
Shahid serves as a statistical editor for academic journals and mentors postdoctoral researchers, PhD candidates, and Master's students. His current research spans statistical and epidemiological methods and modelling, geospatial analytics, machine learning, time series analysis, and functional data analysis.
