Flinders Factory of the Future is teaming with evoSonic to prevent dangerous catastrophic failures in industrial pipes. The non-destructive assessment of this infrastructure is complex, costly and must often wait until defects are substantial until they can be correctly detected.
By combining ultrasonic probes with sophisticated adaptive bio-inspired signal processing previously undetectable subtle textural differences in engineering scans will be revealed. This will lead to the identification of micro-anomalies before they pose a significant threat to the structural integrity of the vessel under inspection. By detecting potential defects at an earlier point, before they become dangerous or urgent, owners will have more time to initiate corrective measures, preventing failures and facilitating less costly interventions.
This innovation has the potential to save millions of dollars a year by preventing damage to infrastructure and lengthy reconstructions that follow industrial pipes rupturing.
