Case Study - Solaflo

Solaflo is an award-winning South Australian manufacturer of pump solutions. It won the Australian Good Design Award in the “Engineering design” category in 2024, for their Intelligent Zero Emissions Pump “IZEP” and another award in 2025, for their “Solmate” PV+T or Solar PV & Thermal water heating panel.

Solaflo is focusing on scaling the production of their Intelligent Zero Emissions Pump, a high-efficiency water pump for swimming pools and other water pumping applications. 

In collaboration with Flinders Factory of the Future, Solaflo is designing a digital and semi-automated assembly system to support the scalable production of the Intelligent Zero Emissions Pump. This includes the digital design of the assembly assets and modules while also optimising the factory layout based on digital simulations to meet assembly objectives such as takt time, or quality.
