The Flinders University Department of Rural Health (UDRH) comprises of a dedicated team of academics and professional staﬀ located in rural and remote South Australia, focusing on health education, student placements and research.

Functions of UDRH in South Australia

Facilitating training placements in rural and remote health and community services for undergraduate and post graduate allied health students.
Providing accommodation and social support to nursing and allied health students during their placements.
Supporting the continuing professional development of rural and remote health professionals.
Undertaking rural and remote health research in close partnership with local communities, health professionals and services.
Supporting Indigenous health workforce, including Indigenous health academics.

Student placement information

Riverland Interdisciplinary Student Placement Program (RISPP)

In partnership with the Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network, UDRH SA coordinates the Riverland Interdisciplinary Student Placement Program (RISPP) which includes an interprofessional student-led allied health clinic at the Aboriginal Wellbeing Centre in Barmera. This unique placement opportunity enables students to collaborate with the Indigenous community health service, whilst receiving mentoring support from a cultural advisory team.
