Since 2020 the Matthew Flinders Scholarship has helped thousands of students in financial need - many who have experienced long-term disadvantage. 

Every day our Financial Counsellor receives a request from a student needing emergency financial assistance - a 12% increase on pre-pandemic levels.

With so many students in financial need, we seek your help to support our students through the community-funded Matthew Flinders Scholarship.

With the financial support of a Matthew Flinders Scholarship, students know where their next meal is coming from, how they will pay the rent and how they will cover transport costs to get to university, or their placement.

Reducing financial stress for students enables them to focus on their studies and work towards their career goals.

For many, this support is an all-important morale boost and can mean the difference between continuing their studies at Flinders or ending their education and career aspirations altogether.
