Dr Ashlee Morgan is an Associate Professor of Sports Management in the College of Business, Creative Arts, Law and Social Sciences, specialising in sport business, marketing and organisational performance. As a social scientist, her expertise spans marketing and communication, strategic partnerships and commercialisation, ethical leadership and governance, workforce development, and diversity and inclusion. This breadth enables her to approach complex sport sector challenges from multiple perspectives and work effectively across disciplinary boundaries.
Ashlee has extensive experience working across academia and industry, delivering research and engagement projects with organisations such as the International Olympic Committee, National and State Sport Organisations, and advocacy organisations including the Climate Council and Sustainable Sport Australia. Her research is grounded in real-world application, supporting sport organisations to navigate governance, participation and performance, and innovation challenges and demands. Her work is published in high-quality academic journals, with her research making meaningful contributions to academic knowledge and industry practice.
As an experienced sport business and marketing educator, she designs and delivers innovative curriculum across university programs and industry-focused executive education. Her teaching philosophy focuses on problem-based learning and embedding principles of design-thinking into sport business education.
Alongside her academic role, Ashlee has held governance positions within the sport sector, including serving as a Director with Triathlon WA and AFL Sydney's Strategic Advisory Board. She is an active media contributor, regularly contributing expert insights on sport business, governance and social issues across TV, radio and print media.
As an advocate for ethical business decision-making and social impact, Ashlee champions transparency and integrity, supporting organisations to prioritise ethical practices that benefit athletes, fans, and society.
